Detective Arleigh McCree
Detective Arleigh McCree and his partner Officer Ball both of the LAPD Bomb Squad were killed while attempting to render safe two pipe bombs located during a search of a home that was connected with a shooting investigation. While examining the devices, the officers determined that they were booby trapped and evacuated the scene of personnel. During the bomb squad operation, they devices detonated killing Detective McCree instantly and fatally wounding Officer Ball who succumbed to his wounds in the hospital several hours later
